Privacy Policy
Kidnector. Effective October 2026.
This page explains what we collect when you sign up for Kidnector, what we do with it, who helps us run the service, and how to get your information deleted. We wrote it in plain words on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to monica@kidnector.com and a person will answer.
Who we are
Kidnector is the Question of the Day text service from Kidnections. Kidnections is a brand of Sales Monsters Inc.
- Legal business name: Sales Monsters Inc.
- Mailing address: 6563 5th Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90043
- Support email: monica@kidnector.com
What the service is
You give us your mobile number and pick a time of day. We text you one question a day to ask your kid. That is the whole product. The service is for parents and other adults in the United States, and it works with US mobile numbers only.
What we collect from you
When you sign up, you give us:
- Your mobile number. This is where the questions go.
- Your email address. For your welcome email, notices about your free trial and billing, and the link to your account page.
- Your child's first name. Optional. If you give it, it goes in the daily text ("Car ride question for Ava: ..."). If you leave it blank, the text says "your kid".
- Your child's age range. We use it to pick questions that fit.
- Your time zone and the time of day you want the text.
- Whether you ticked the newsletter box. A separate, optional box.
We do not ask for your child's last name, birthday, school, photo, or anything else about them.
What we record on our own
- Proof that you agreed to get texts. When you tick the consent box, we save which version of the consent wording you saw, the date and time, your IP address, and your browser type. Phone carriers and regulators expect us to be able to show that each person agreed, so we keep this record.
- A log of the texts we send you, including the wording, the time, and whether the carrier delivered it.
- A log of the texts you send us, such as SKIP, TIME, PAUSE, RESUME, STOP, HELP, and START, with your number and the time. If you text TALK to our number to start signing up, we log that message and your number too.
- Signup attempt records. Each time the signup form is submitted for a number, we save that number, the IP address the submission came from, and the time. This is how we stop one person, or one computer, from making us text a long list of numbers. These records are deleted automatically within a few days.
- Basic activity events, such as "signup started", "trial started", or "question sent". These are tied to your account record, not to your name, number, or email.
- Billing status. Which plan you are on, whether your trial or plan is active, and the ID numbers Stripe gives us for your customer and subscription records.
Like any website, the company that hosts our site receives your IP address and browser type when you load a page. The app itself sets no cookies. Stripe's checkout and billing pages use Stripe's own cookies.
If you came from one of our ads on a social media platform, such as TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or Snapchat, the home page may load that platform's pixel or tag, so the platform can tell us which ad brought you and whether you signed up. The platform receives that a page was viewed and that a signup happened, along with what its own pixel collects about your browser and device under that platform's own privacy policy. We do not give it your phone number, your email, your kid's name, or anything you type into the form. These pixels never load on a page that carries your personal signup link, and they are not on the site at all for visitors who did not come from one of our ads.
What we do not collect
- Anything from your child. The service is for parents. Children do not use it, do not have accounts, and do not text with us. The only things we know about your child are the first name, if you chose to give it, and the age range, and both come from you.
- Your card number. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to monica@kidnector.com and we will delete it.
How we use your information
- send your daily question at the time you chose
- send your welcome text and email
- tell you when your free trial is ending, and handle billing if you decide to pay
- answer the commands you text us (SKIP, TIME, PAUSE, RESUME, STOP, HELP, START)
- send a link to your account page when you ask for one
- send you the free Kidnections newsletter, only if you ticked that box
- stop fraud and abuse of the signup form
- see whether the service is working, for example how many texts were delivered
- answer you when you write to support
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.
Text messages and your mobile number
We never sell or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. That covers your number, the fact that you opted in, and your consent record. Your number is shared only with the companies that physically deliver the texts, listed below, and only so they can deliver them.
- One text a day, at the time you chose. Message frequency: 1 per day.
- Also: a welcome text when you sign up, up to three account notices near the end of your free trial, one reminder if you started signing up and did not finish, one link to restart if you sign up again after your free week has been used, and replies to the commands you send us. If somebody enters a number that is already signed up, that number gets one text saying so.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any text to cancel. Reply HELP for help.
- Agreeing to get texts is not a condition of buying anything.
The full SMS program terms are in our Terms.
Companies that help us run the service
We use a small number of outside companies. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Twilio | Sends and receives the texts | Your mobile number and the wording of each text |
| Stripe | Takes payments and runs the Manage billing page | Your email, your payment details (given to Stripe directly, not to us), and an internal account ID |
| Supabase | Hosts our database | Everything listed under "What we collect" |
| Vercel | Hosts the website | Your IP address and browser type when you load a page |
| Resend | Sends our emails | Your email address and the wording of each email |
| Beehiiv | Sends the Kidnections newsletter | Your email address, only if you ticked the newsletter box |
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy that covers how it handles data on its side. We may also share information if the law requires it, such as a valid court order. If Kidnections or Sales Monsters Inc. is ever sold or merged, your information would go with the service to the new owner under this same policy, and we would tell you by email first.
How long we keep things
- While you are signed up: we keep everything listed above so the service works.
- Unfinished signups: form details are deleted after about an hour, and an unconfirmed signup is deleted after 7 days.
- After your free trial ends or you cancel: we keep your settings so that starting again takes one tap. You can ask us to delete them at any time, and we do it within 30 days.
- Text and email logs: kept until your information is deleted.
- Proof of consent: kept after everything else is gone, without your number, email, name, or IP address attached. See the next section.
Deleting your information
You can ask us to delete your information at any time. Email monica@kidnector.com from the address you signed up with, or tell us the mobile number on the account. We will do it within 30 days. When you ask, we also cancel any paid plan, unsubscribe you from the newsletter if you were on it, and ask our providers to delete what they hold where they allow it.
What we erase: your mobile number, your email address, your child's first name, the wording of every text we sent you and every text you sent us, the IP address and browser type saved with your consent record, and any unfinished signup details and account links.
What we keep, and why:
- Proof that consent was given: the kind of consent, which version of the wording you saw, and the date and time. No phone number, email, name, or IP address stays attached to it. If a carrier or regulator ever asks whether people agreed to get our texts, we need to be able to show that they did.
- A one way scramble (a "hash") of your phone number. It cannot be turned back into your number. We keep it so that if the same number is ever entered in our signup form again, we know to ask for fresh consent instead of quietly re-enrolling it.
- Settings that do not identify you: your child's age range, your time zone and chosen time, your plan type and trial dates, and activity events like "question sent".
- Billing records at Stripe. Stripe keeps its own record of payments as the law requires it to.
Texting STOP ends the texts but does not delete your information. To delete, email us. Deleted information can remain in our database backups for a short period until those backups roll off.
Your choices
- Stop the texts: reply STOP to any Kidnector text.
- Change your time, your child's name or age range, or your billing: ask for an account link at kidnector.com/account.
- Stop the newsletter: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter.
- See, correct, or delete what we hold: email monica@kidnector.com.
If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. Email monica@kidnector.com to use any of these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
How we protect your information
- The database cannot be reached from a web browser. Only our own server code can read or write it.
- Account links are stored only in scrambled form, so a copy of our database would not hand anyone a working link.
- Payments run through Stripe, so card numbers never touch our systems.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you by email as soon as we reasonably can, and within the time the law requires.
Where your information is stored
Our providers store and process information in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and change the effective date at the top. If a change affects how we use your mobile number or your child's information, we will also tell you by email before it takes effect.
